Superstar Baseball!, Sports Illustrated, 1975 advertisement
Here for your consumerist enjoyment, a selection of vintage print advertisements for tabletop
baseball games, with examples from every decade from the 1870s to the 21st century. Some
are full-page display ads from well-known magazines, while others are tiny classifieds from
now-obscure ancient trade periodicals. Some ads are shown full-size, while some images, sorry,
are just too darn small and blurry to read, but you should still be able to get the gist of the thing...

Games are arranged alphabetically by title, below, with the original source of the ad noted in
those instances in which that information is available -- and the year in which the ad ran providing
a link to the ad image, which will open in a new window in your browser. In many cases we've
left the surrounding material in the ad image, which maybe lends a sense of the zeitgeist of the era
in which the ad ran. Some we've swiped off the interweb, some we've scanned from our own
heaps of acidifying 1960s and '70s baseball magazines, and many have been provided by members
of our Baseball Games Forum -- thanks especially to Bruce Whitehill, Tom Shieber, Rick Tucker,
Tom Nahigian, Mike Rothstein, Mike Boling, Kevin Hennessy, Brian "bamco-star" and eBayer
"gdawg," as well as The Strong Museum of Play, for their massive and generous contributions
  to this page.

Bam-Bee-No - The National Game, The National Game Co., 1922
A curious thing, this: Bam-Bee-No was one of the most heavily promoted games of its time, with print ads appearing from 1921 through 1923 in Baseball Magazine, Popular Mechanics, The Saturday Evening Post, and several other hugely popular periodicals of the day. Yet in all our years of collecting and research, we've seen only one lone example of the game itself... Oh yeah... it's ours.
